@ church
I’ll be around church snapping away again on Sunday. We’re in week two of the new sermon series and I don’t want to put off photographing it until the last week like I did with “The Buck Stops Here” (our last series). So look for a new crop of photos to pop up on [...]

First Free photos…UPLOADED
I’ve gone through and weeded out the best of the 700+ pictures from last Sunday and come up with 80 that I think stand out. I’ve put those up on Flickr in a new collection called Photography.
Take a look.

favorite Sunday pics
I took my camera to church on Sunday and just went wild – 750 pictures in roughly an hour and a half. I’m sort of addicted to the hold down the shutter and the camera keeps talking photos feature.
Here are a few of my favorites (with commentary):
I love the motion blur on this one, [...]

Harry Walls leads worship in Quest
The last two Sundays we have been lucky enough to have a guest worship leader in Quest.
Quest is an alternative, casual, modern* service that meets during the 2nd hour of services at First Free Church.
Harry is a gifted worship leader, a talented pianist, a great singer, and a good friend. It was really nice [...]

Easter '09 Services
I know these are a bit late in coming. It’s been a hectic couple of months – between the new worship pastor’s arrival, Good Friday, Easter, finishing my last term paper, Graduation and the NYC trip. But, better late than never. Head over to the Production page to see how everything turned [...]

Strand Coolbeam SL Documentation
By popular demand I’m making the most useful files I received in my quest to find a manual for Strand’s Coolbeam spotlights on my site. Hopefully this will save others some time. If you need anything else or just want to commiserate about Strand’s various inconvenient quirks shoot me an email – we’ll chat. Lord knows [...]

Good tidings of busyness and oddity…
It’s a beautiful day today. Freezing cold, mind you, but quite pretty. It’s started snowing a few minutes ago – very light, fluffy flakes that appear to waft through the air with minds’ of their own. Great weather to contemplate the meaning of life.
Which I’m not going to do. Seriously, [...]

Church Production
taking technical and atmospheric production to the next level
I don’t know what it was about today’s service that got me thinking, but it sparked something. Like many churches today, our church (First Free) has been caught between two modes of worship – traditional and contemporary. If you don’t speak Christianese that might not [...]

Mystery of the Missing Strand SL User's Manual?
It’s odd how documentation on equipment seems to disappear. To a certain extent it makes sense. No one wants to read the stuff and it is rarely helpful. Yet, on occasion it does come in handy. Case in point, the Strand SL User’s Manual. Ninety percent of my church’s stage [...]

Tact, an Undervalued Virtue
I don’t know exactly where my Pastor (Bill Jones) got this, but I like it. I particularly like the last paragraph. If only we could all remember this in our daily lives.
Tact is the ability to avoid needless offense. It includes having an awareness of and appreciation for the other person’s feelings [...]
Pam defines herself as independent and decisive, but also as a bibliophile, an ex-homeschooler, something of a geek, a mostly unspoilt only child, a Christian, and a mild perfectionist.
